What do you have?

Why do you have it?

Who’s it for?

This probably won’t surprise you, but most of the people we talk with can only vaguely describe their existing insurance coverage.

“I have some term…not sure how many years are left on it. And I think I have a policy my parents bought when I was a baby…? Oh, and I think I my company provides some disability coverage…”

Whether it is part of a comprehensive financial plan or an “insurance only” engagement, our first step in the process is to help catalog all of your current coverage. This can be an intensive process requiring lots of digging through file cabinets or safe deposit boxes and reading benefit handbooks. The next step involves an examination of your various policies. We want to understand why you have the coverage you have, and we want to make sure that you understand how that coverage works. This includes reviewing the terms and financial performance of your insurance, where applicable, to asses its “health.” Finally, we review your beneficiary designations on policies that have them. Why? Guess how many people remember to change beneficiaries on their life insurance after getting divorced…
